How to Apply to Catalyze Challenge Round 5

Thank you for your interest in Catalyze Challenge Round 5! Before you begin, please read these instructions carefully so you understand the process, timeline, and what to expect at each stage.

Step 1: Complete the Eligibility Screening

The first step in the application process is a short eligibility screening. These questions help determine whether your idea is a good fit for Round 5.

  • If you answer “no” to any required eligibility question, you may not be eligible to move forward in the application.
  • If your responses meet all eligibility requirements, you will be directed to complete the full Phase 1 application.

Please note that some eligibility questions vary depending on the theme you select.

Step 2: Complete the Phase 1 Application

If you pass the eligibility screening, you will be asked to complete the full Phase 1 application.

  • The Phase 1 application takes approximately 1–2 hours to complete.
  • We strongly recommend starting early to allow time to coordinate with partners and draft thoughtful responses.
  • Phase 1 applications are due by February 27, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET (8:59 PM PT).

Tips for Completing Your Application

  • Start early. Give yourself time to think through your responses and gather input from partners or team members.
  • Collaborate with your team. You can add collaborators to your application to help share the work and strengthen your submission.
  • Save as you go. You don’t need to finish in one sitting. Your progress will save automatically, but be sure to save before exiting.
  • Review before submitting. Once you submit your application, you won’t be able to make changes.
  • Use the Applicant Guide and FAQs. These resources explain eligibility, evaluation criteria, and what reviewers are looking for.
